Children's Day at the CNB Visitor Centre

Dear visitors,

Join us at the Czech National Bank Visitor Centre in Prague to celebrate Children's Day together on May 30.

Throughout the day, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., a varied programme will be prepared for you, designed not only for children but also for adults. In the exhibitions Behind the Currency and People and Money, you will be able to test how much strength is needed to lift a gold bar, see the largest gold coin in Europe, or find out how challenging it is to maintain inflation at the 2% target. Also available will be the popular exhibition The World of Banknotes by Oldřich Kulhánek, presenting the work of the distinguished Czech graphic artist and designer of our banknotes.

Every half hour, you will also have the opportunity to join, for a moment, Alois Rašín in his Study – the newest part of our offer, created as part of the celebrations marking 100 years since the establishment of the first central bank. To mark this significant anniversary, a travelling roll-up exhibition mapping the early years of the National Bank of Czechoslovakia, the direct predecessor of the CNB, will also be presented to the public for the first time.

In addition to visiting our exhibitions, the programme will include creative workshops, balloon modelling, as well as a special children's trail game and competitions with prizes.

The day will also feature the announcement of the winner of the 4th annual CNB Governor's Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Advancement of Financial and Economic Literacy. The award will be presented by CNB Governor Aleš Michl to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the development of this educational field in the Czech Republic.

Enjoy all this and many other activities on May 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the CNB Visitor Centre in Prague.

We're already looking forward to it–what about you?
