This year, the Czech National Bank Visitor Centre once again took part in the celebrations of World Lion Day at Prague Zoo. A variety of themed games, quizzes and activities were prepared for both children and adults, introducing them in an engaging and interactive way to the unexpected links between the Czech currency and animals.
Visitors could test their knowledge of banknote security features, challenge themselves on an obstacle course representing the circulation of money, try to hit the 2% inflation target, or design their own banknote in the creative workshop. Young visitors enthusiastically completed tasks and collected stamps, earning not only a reward at the end, but also an important lesson: just as the lion is the king of animals, anyone who understands money can become a king or queen of the world of finance.
Adult visitors particularly appreciated the publications and quizzes specially prepared to mark the 100th anniversary of the central bank.
Thanks to the fun and educational programme, visitors took away not only prizes but also new insights into the world of money and the symbolism of the lion.
Enjoy the summer atmosphere captured in the photographs below.
