A big birthday party was held to mark the first anniversary of the CNB Visitor Centre in Prague. Visitors to the centre were treated to a tour of the permanent and short-term exhibitions and special birthday activities, including competitions, magic shows, educational activities and creative workshops. Over 1,300 visitors came to the centre to learn about the history of money, commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Czech currency and gain an insight into the Bank Board's decision-making on monetary policy.
On this occasion, Czech National Bank Governor Aleš Michl presented the first ever CNB Governor's Award for outstanding contribution to the advancement of financial and economic literacy. This award went to Jana Doležalová in recognition of her long-time exceptional contribution to financial literacy at a primary school in Vimperk. She is also devoted to enhancing the knowledge of other target groups in this area, for example senior citizens. She has participated in the preparation of various educational resources and methodological documents and is an active participant in international projects in the area of financial and economic education.
More than 480 visitors came to the People and Money and Beauty in Glass and Metal exhibitions in Brno as part of the Brno museum night.
We look forward to seeing you again in the coming year.
